Many of us have travel bucket lists – the places we want to see and experience before we erm… pop our clogs.
From the great cities of the world, to places of natural beauty – everyone’s list is different, however new research shows that many of us are moving more towards adventurous travel destinations.
I currently have an ever expanding note on my iPhone that is categorised by country and by nearest friend who I could travel with or visit on route. Im not convinced I’ll ever get through the whole list, but if there is ever a moment where I feel like I need to get away then I have a scroll through the list… check out the flight costs, and book away!
Research from adventure travel specialist Explore shows that while more than a third of people used to be interested in ‘fly and flop’ holidays, involving sunbeds, swimming pools, and horrendous novels they picked up at the airports, their interests now lie elsewhere and one in five say they are looking for a cultural experience when travelling.
So if you’re looking for inspiration, then watch our video where TV presenter, adventure traveler and nature lover Michaela Strachan tells you her top five bucket list travel destinations.
